The 20 years of Metta Vihara and Vesak Celebration was held at Metta Vihara, Allgau, Germany. There were more than 300 people from different walk of lives, seeker of Truth and lover of peace. The program started with offering prayer. Ven. Nyanabodhi, Abbot of Metta Vihara and spiritual Director of Buddha Haus, Germany delivered a welcome speech and introduction of Ve.Ayya Khema, Buddha Haus and Metta Vihara. Ven.Bhikkhu Sanghasena was guest of honour of this auspicious occasion.Ven.Bhikkhu Sanghasena delivered an inspiring speech on the important of Vesak celebration ,the and of course the celebration of the 20 years service of METTA Vihara to Buddha Sasana in the western world.
He expressed his deep appreciation Ven.Nyanabodhi for carrying out the great vision and mission most Ven.Late Ayya Khema.
He also expressed thanks to Ven.Nyanabodhi, the members of Buddha Haus and Metta Vihara for their unreserved support for over all development of Mahabodhi various spiritual and humanitarian services since Ven.Sanghasena met Ayya Khemma.
Ven. Sanghasena also offered the Mahakaruna Award 2017 to Ven. Nyanabodhi .
Most Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena was conferred with the "Ambassador of Global Harmony Award" by the Founder President of the Anand Asharam Foundation (Affiliated to the United Nation through its Department of Public Information) during a huge convention gathered for the Mahakaruna Day Celebration on the 25th of April in Bali, Indonesia . It is the organization's most prestigious award presented to higly distinguished individuals who have contributed tremendously to world peace, interfaith and harmony..

On the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya of 3 day celebration, Bhikkhu Sanghasena was invited as one of the guest speaker; it was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India. Several Governors, Ministers and eminent spiritual masters like Swami Chidananda Ji, Acharya Lokesh Muni Ji etc were also present.
The Mahakaruna Day celebration was held on the 15th of March is the beautiful golden country of Myanmar. The event was organized in collaboration with the Mahavihara Buddhist University and the Dhammadutta Buddhist Monastery and University. Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena, the founder and Chairman of the Mahakaruna Day Celebrations traveled all the way to Myanmar for the event. The event was attended by more than one thousand Buddhist monks and devotees. Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena delivered an inspiring Talk on Mahakaruna and it’s need in today’s world which was well translated by Ven. U Ja Garalankara to the non-English speaking participants, a film on Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena and his work which was released recently on the Mahakaruna Day celebrations in the 7 different cities of India was also shown to the participants.
The 7th & the Last Mahakaruna Diwas of this year was held our own state’s beautiful city of Jammu on 22nd February, 2017. Jenab Dr. Haseeb Drabu, Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Gov’t of Jammu & Kashmir was the Chief Guest whereas Shri. Chering Dorje, Hon’ble Minister of Cooperative and Ladakh Affairs, Gov’t of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Nawang Rigzin Jora, Hon’ble MLA and CLP Leader, Most Ven. Lama Lobzang, General Secretary, International Buddhist Confederation, New Delhi, Swami Agnivesh, the social and human right activist, were guests of honour with more than 1000 participants mostly people from Leh Ladakh who resides in Jammu city. The program lasted around 4 hours but the auditorium was packed throughout the program.
The 6th Mahakaruna Diwas of this year was held in the beautiful city of Chandigarh on 19th February, 2017. H.E Professor Samdhong Rinpoche blessed the celebration as the chief Guest on the request of Ven. Sanghasena, the founder and chairman of Mahakaruna Day Celebrations amidst a galaxy of honoured guests both from abroad as well as many parts of India besides large number of Ladakhi families and students studying in Chandigarh.
